“The Aventador is the true essence of what a Lamborghini should be. Mighty, crazy and sheer lunacy are words that instantly hit your mind when you behold this car’s presence. More than worthy of following its predecessors, it has all the distinct elements of Lamborghinis: the inner raging bull; wild power (691 of these raging bulls) and the untamed drama associated with being scared shitless. The name itself is taken from a legendary bull however it exhibits the frightfulness of a minotaur.
The styling is reminiscent of a stealth fighter: the pincering grills, bladed alloys and the razor-edged rear. The LED headlights add to this menacing look and of course are created by the leading pioneers of the technology - Audi. The size of this thing adds to its freakishly sinister looks but don’t let the size fool you as it is more than capable of chasing the matador around the arena. The interior is no different with cabin instruments styled from the cockpit of a fighter jet most noticeably the engine start button enclosed in a red latch which screams “don’t bloody touch me”.
Word has it on the streets of London is that the Aventador is the loudest supercar on the road which, considering the likes of cars like the Ferrari 599 GTO, means that it is voraciously loud. Its high-revving V12 is loud enough to make any passer-by stare in panic and then immediately be dazed by motion sickness as it streaks past. This thing should be chained for the sounds it makes as they may as well be equivalent to swearing. Only a handful of supercars in the world can match acceleration times of 0-60s below 3 seconds and this beast does it with ease thanks to its near-perfect launch control system. Handling is flawless aided by its 4-wheel drive system keeping it precise and planted. Any other words to add would be superfluous apart from every other car is inferior. Putting this car into Corsa mode will catapult the car into a blistering pace especially around corners allowing for scintillatingly quick gear changes which will leave you violently shaken and in need of the obligatory after-massage. The harshness of this mode really does take no prisoners.
The Aventador maintains the eccentricities of previous Lambo’s and keeps the pervasive heritage that uniquely places Lamborghini as a God among cars. Most of all, it is the epitome of a true supercar, albeit actually a usable one, yelling loudness, ostentatiousness and profanities in your ear. Undeniably, this should be every man’s rat-pack fantasy.”
